• AVIATION EYE EXAMS IN TRARALGON
CASA Eye Exams
We provide Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) eye exams for aspiring and current pilots, conducted by our CASA-accredited optometrists,
Dr Michael Tran & Leah Meulendijks. These exams ensure pilots meet the vision standards required for their aviation medical certificate.
What does an aviation eye exam involve?
One hour is set aside for the eye examination. The eye test compromises a full assessment of vision, spectacle refraction, binocular vision and coordination, peripheral vision and ocular health assessment.

What To Expect
Please bring a photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence) and ARN. If required to wear glasses, please bring your main and backup pair.
- Fee: $300 (not claimable through Medicare)
- Submission: Results will be automatically submitted electronically
- Eye Drops: Please refer below for important safety precautions
As part of your assessment, special eye drops will be used. Expect to have your pupils dilated, which will temporarily make your eyes more glare-sensitive and can blur vision for a few hours. Bring a pair of sunglasses and arrange for someone to drive you home after your appointment, as outside light makes driving difficult.
