Make a Difference with Lions Recycle for Sight Australia

Did you know your old glasses can change lives? Lions Recycle for Sight Australia, part of the Lions Australia community service and volunteering network, is an inspiring initiative that not only helps deliver used glasses to those in need but also reduces landfill waste. At Kay Street Eyecare, we’re proud to partner with Lions to support this impactful program.

A Global Vision for Good

For over two decades, Lions Recycle for Sight has refurbished and distributed nearly 20 million pairs of quality spectacles to men, women, and children in underserved communities around the world. These glasses, once destined for landfill, now offer the gift of clear vision to those who might otherwise go without.

How It Works

Lions Clubs, optometrists, and community groups across Australia collect used spectacles donated by individuals in their local areas. Suitable pairs are sent to the Lions Recycle Centre, where they are carefully regraded, refurbished, and prepared for redistribution. From classrooms to workplaces, these glasses enable people to learn, work, and live better lives.
